The ultimate ability to change reality vs the ability to cancel any ability. It's a stalemate.

Meroko Yui • 1 year ago

Feel just like Dazai that Fyodor has restrictions. Dazai needs to touch someone for it to work and he is generally good at that. So far it seems Fyodor changes people's perception of reality so people's memories start to be overwritten that the information he makes them perceive is or just seems true to them. Seems like brainwashing add smoke and mirrors to a much larger target range. Instead of changing reality it sounds like he makes everyone delusional. Maybe it's also why Ranpo was so essential in this seasons story. Will be interesting to see his return. There's no way he's dead just because he jumped out a window to avoid bullets.

On the contrary them giving each other counseling is amusing.
Q:How do I get my lackeys to work better?
A: Do nothing at all to get them to change.

Q: How do I get the waitress to take my advances for a double suicide?
A: Get her to lose her job and turn her boyfriend and everyone against her.

Ahahaha.

lolz.

Fyodor isn't the one whose power made everyone believe the detective agency is guilty, that was the reality altering book that the Decay of Angels stole. What we know about Fyodor's power is its name and that there is a condition that allows him to instantly kill someone. I have a theory relating to its name that he can set a condition (crime) and a result for said condition being fulfilled (punishment). however theres probably a catch, like maybe the condition has to include him somehow, like touching Fyodor will carry the penalty of death or something like that.

It's been a while since I watched it so I don't remember Fyodor compared to the main people tbh. Even then it seems strange of the book not to get whatever they want 100% Like as example it doesn't sound like he has the power to reverse a tragic event and shape reality that way and as far as it goes they mentioned it does rewrite their memories. They remember the false memories as if they were real memories yet are aware they are false memories. This still sounded pretty suspicious overall. In term it doesn't feel like reality is really being altered. I do know they stated that it has to play out like a book but that doesn't mean they can't just reverse a tragedy as it happens in books. In books anything goes regardless you put down rules. A character you thought dead showing up later or to see someone recover from something seemingly impossible to tell the tale. That's why I think that it's warping reality seems weird. At first I thought of the book similar to poe th. Poe traps a person in til they solved his mystery and completed the story since it was a mystery novel generally.

the mechanics of the book have been said in the manga, but it'd be spoilers to explain exactly how it works here other than what's already been said in the show. The basic non-spoiler explanation is that you can use it to direct reality and alter perception by writing a consistent narrative. For now, think of it like this: The book can make any plausible cause of an event the actual cause of an event as long as you put it into words

Meroko Yui • 1 year ago

I think I get it but still I think that logic is a really broken one that should say anything goes but it doesn't.

The real question is? Why'd you even post at all? LoL.

Gudaoko22 • 1 year ago

Fyodor's ability is not yet known. That was the power of the book he used

no wonder dazai is been remove on early stage before there plan starts

Shawn Frost • 1 year ago

I don't read the manga, but I think either one of them are gonna distracted for like, idk, a minute? and then lose the control of their ability. Might be a scratch, but I don't think there is another way, considering how smart they are.

Dazai and Fyodor just goofing around while their mates be dying

Saved by port mafia, absolutely no.
It's a deal.
Who will join port mafia?

Chuuya's fancy hat • 1 year ago

Even in the manga it hasn't been mentioned about who's gonna join the Mafia till now.

Yahiko • 1 year ago

no one, manga is ongoing and the war is not resolved yet

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

chuuya better be in the next episodes

Tohru Dazai • 1 year ago

Every episode is amazing but I don't know why this anime has low comments and low views. It's a masterpiece anime, still it's underappreciated.

Jomo • 1 year ago

It's extremely popular in Japan and it's getting more and more attention in the west, and yes it's a masterpiece, but sadly kids are more interested in ecchi and isekai

Kintama • 1 year ago

Yeah crap shows like rent a girlfriend is getting more attention like wtf

Aladdin727 • 8 months ago

It would be fine if those genres were given some more respect

Justin Posey • 1 year ago

I've said this basically every episode, but just because you don't see many people watching it on here, trust me it's one of the most popular shows in Japan, and those of us who have watched it from the beginning know how absolutely amazing it is

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

And a few more reasons are it's another season which some franchises loose viewers when they feel like they seen enough/ect. Also Gogo looses people when they head to other sites that are better run.

Enorme-san • 1 year ago

The cover doesnt have waifus thats the main reason im sure.

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

i'm not so sure about the other seasons but this season catch my eye

Druid1 • 1 year ago

I've been appreciating it since I discovered it and glad it's still releasing

Serif Mango • 1 year ago

I bet most of them stopped watching after the first couple episodes, as it was just about Ranpos past in black and white.

Reemus • 1 year ago

Just logically, because it is not a masterpiece and that's why only a certain, contained audience is watching it. Masterpieces have wide recognition and also high viewer numbers.

SD • 1 year ago

Not really. I consider Spirit Circle and Umineko to be near masterpieces yet both are relatively niche. Not all masterpieces are well known.

dzonax3 • 1 year ago

name a few "masterpiece" animes that have wide recognition and also high viewer numbers

Reemus • 1 year ago

Shingeki no Kyojin, Gintama, that's enough for you all.

Based.

LesK • 1 year ago

Gin isn't a masterpiece, it is just damn long and highly popular. Attack on Titan has the exact same problems, too long and crazy popular. yet even Titan fans admit that there is/are serious problems with several of the seasons.

Amirul Ichsan • 8 months ago

why do you hate long things, it can't be that you are traumatized with one?

LesK • 8 months ago

long? :D ohhh hahahahahohhhh trauma? i'm laughing my ass off here! thanks for the chuckles! :D i've been watching anime since 1990. long shows, are cake and ice-cream to me.

examples? i binged around 3-5 eps a day of Detective Conan during covid and got into the episode 1030 or 1070 somethings, including each year's theatrical movie, before i got burned out. i'll get back to it eventually.

Inuyasha, i own all the TV episodes and theatrical movies on DVD and i've watched it from start to finish around 10 times. same with Bleach (the original series not the new one) i've watched that one start to finish around 20 times now. Bleach TYBWA i've seen Part 1 weekly in sub and then English once it was completed and i'm watching Part 2 weekly in subs as well. Dragonball, i watched every single episode from the first one till around five eps into the Majin Bhuu arc before i quit. ROBOTECH my first anime, i've got it all on DVD as well. dozens of rewatches. Evangelion, same thing all the disks, even the two alternate ending movies. but the newest 2000 something movies i've only got the first two. multiple rewatches. i would go on but you catch my drift. :)

Reemus • 1 year ago

I'd be willing to hear them from someone moderate, as I am a connoisseur and can hardly seen any fault with the series on the whole.

LesK • 1 year ago

i've never watched either, i've never had any interest in Gin at all and Titan... shrug... i was around when it first started up and it didn't attract me at all. so i never started it. they're both crazy long shows with lots of folks crowing about them for various reasons. most of the folks who talk about Gin never mention it has terrible plotline problems and entirely lackluster overarching themes. and Titan. shrug. where to start? those who've followed it know, whiny protag that has to be saved by everybody all the time turns into god that offs anybody and anything in his way. THAT giant move from this end of the character spectrum... to waaaaay over there on the other side of the character spectrum boggles some folks' minds. then there's the whole CGA season that most Titan fans wanted an entire remake of moments after it started. me, i'm aware of them just to be... aware of them. :) you'd have to pay me several dollars a minute to sit through either one. i've got no interest in em. :) i'd rather watch other anime. :)

LesK • 1 year ago

Violet Evergarden. that one is always on the tip of my tongue when somebody asks for a #1, 10 outta 10, a hair's width away from perfection masterpiece anime recommendation. masterpiece anime original projects without a source, i always recommend Darling in the Franxx and Gurren Lagan.

dzonax3 • 1 year ago

I rated Violet Evergarden 8/10, the animation was good and it looked good and all(not that i remember much about it) but i found it boring so i personally wouldnt call it a masterpiece, i dropped both Darling in the franxx and Gurren Lagan so cant say much about that, but yeah theres no such thing as a "masterpiece" anime, it all comes to people tastes

LesK • 1 year ago

nah, a masterpiece is a masterpiece. universality works its way into a genre, or a media, or medium. painting. music. sculpture. something just clicks within everybody that encounters a masterpiece.

Amirul Ichsan • 8 months ago

Okay try me then. What do you consider masterpiece?

LesK • 8 months ago

as i mentioned before... Violet, Darling, and Gurren. BSD masterpiece. let's seee....
ROBOTECH, but not Macross... i haven't watched much Macross, just bits and pieces.
Inuyasha

Evangelion
S-Cry-Ed
Cowboy Bebop
Trinity Blood
Ghost in the Shell
Ah! My Goddess (both TV series and the original OVA)
Chobits
Full Metal Panic

Eureka Seven
Gankutsuou
Karas
Outlaw Star
Vampire Hunter D

Spice and Wolf
Natsume's Book of Friends.....

Amirul Ichsan • 8 months ago

For the one who hates "too long and crazy popular" things, you sure really like them, isn't that ironic? Addicted I would say. More than half of these series are crazy popular, you hate normies, right? Inuyasha and D gray man are over 100 episodes, FMAB and Eureka have 50+. Pretty long to be masterpieces, right? Also, if masterpieces have to adhere to everybody as you said, why do I find this list underwhelmingly disappointing? :P

LesK • 8 months ago

do NOT mis-quote me. i just reread everything i wrote and i said NOTHING of that sort. we're done. you're blocked. you're going to put words in my mouth? we're done. i do NOT talk to folks like you who do that. that is RUDE UNCOUTH AND DISGUSTING.

Lucy Heartfilia • 1 year ago

A masterpiece is something that is unique and amazing in every way, despite having a few flaws. It is also called a masterpiece because one needs an artistic eye to view it. Which is why not every masterpiece is popular. Anime that are nowadays popular are those which stimulates some sort of pleasure/happiness in people ad which provide an escape from the real world. I hope you now understand why BSD isn't popular.

Reemus • 1 year ago

Yes, by that description I can totally understand why Shingeki no Kyojin is a masterpiece, indeed.
